Numbers-Based Learning: Alternative Method for Teaching Division in School Education

Learning division through the method of Number-Based Learning facilitates the acquisition of distributive skills that are fundamental to understanding other mathematical concepts. This research is aimed at contributing to the learning of the division through the application of the ABN method in fifth grade students, parallel A, of the General Rumiñahui Basic Education School; for its operationalization, it was considered to diagnose the level of difficulty presented by children in the development of the division, to propose activities related to the use of the ABN method for its resolution and to assess the impact of the use of the method in the learning of the division. We worked with a qualitative and quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design considering the descriptive, analytical and synthetic method; The techniques used were the survey and the interview, aimed at a population of 26 students and 1 teacher. The result of the implementation of the ABN method allowed an improvement in the overall average of the degree of 35.40%, because it promotes the understanding of the processes that are carried out, improves the capacity of estimation and calculation adapting to the needs of the students.
