Abstract

The multimedia chronicle seeks to connect with an audience eager to know stories in different formats. Digital audiences, as well as readers of printed publications, have the same purpose when they need to know and understand what is happening around them: to find a close story that excites them, and which they can access with the help of multi-format resources. But to reach this conclusion, it will be necessary to briefly review the importance of oral storytelling as a supreme form of communication. Since ancient times, the classic chronicle continues to connect diverse audiences because what has evolved is not the impact of the story itself, but the way in which we make the story available to others. We speak from our experience: we went from being Revista Marcapasos and became a multimedia platform called Historias que laten. We define the chronicle not as a genre or a range of journalistic genres but as an experience. The resources that literary journalism offers us to elaborate a chronicle are as important as the new digital narratives to generate that closeness with those who have identical or similar interests, and to create empathy with our audiences.through this essay we want to share our bet to continue with the production and diffusion of extraordinary and surprising stories in the different formats that the new multimedia narratives facilitate us. Knowing and enhancing the use of the resources used to increase the connection with the other is a current need in the journalistic profession.
