Original research, systematic reviews, and bibliometric analyses are accepted

Target audience of the Journal

Researchers in communication, social sciences and humanities.

Periodicity

Until Vol. 4 of 2024 it was published every six months. From Vol. 5 of 2025 onwards it is published quarterly (January, April, July and October) following the continuous publication model.

Information on increasing flow in publications

The editorial committee made the decision to increase the number of publications due to the increase in requests from authors to publish in a journal with quality standards, certified by several indexes, especially SciELO. This has led to the expansion of the editorial team and the list of reviewers in order to sustain the increase in the flows of submissions and publications. Joining the SciELO index has also motivated us to open issues for the following year (AHEAD OF PRINT); in order to reduce the time between the phase, researchers collect the data and the reading moment of the published articles.

Policy on the use of AI tools

The ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in scientific research implies that these technologies should be used as a support and not as a substitute for critical analysis or the research process. Authors are responsible for monitoring, verifying and correcting the results generated by AI, ensuring that there is no bias, data manipulation, plagiarism or intellectual property violations. In addition, AI is prohibited from being listed as author or co-author, as authorship carries responsibilities that only humans can assume. The use of AI in the generation of images, graphs or figures must be described in detail in the methods section, always guaranteeing the authenticity of the results.

Likewise, transparency in the use of AI is required, which implies explicitly stating which tools were used, at what stage of the process, and how they contributed to the manuscript. This information should be included in the methods section to strengthen ethics and trust in scientific publication. The generation of data by AI is prohibited, and researchers should apply rigorous techniques for data collection and interpretation. Editors are responsible for monitoring compliance with these policies, reviewing AI use statements, and updating regulations as necessary to preserve the quality and integrity of scientific articles.
